As of Thursday, March 21, 2019, citizens of Deer Park, Texas have been urged to “shelter in place” out of a concern that Benzene has been released into the environment in the Intercontinental Terminal Company (ITC) Plant Deer Park Incident. Benzene is classified in various relevant industry safety publications as a dangerous chemical and as a known and/or potential human carcinogen.
