EDUCATION
Juris Doctor | University of Miami School of Law, 2020
Yaremis Flores was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. She graduated from the University of Havana School of Law in 2006 and practiced as a Judge during her mandatory social service to pay for her law studies. Later on, while living in Cuba, she focused her career on providing free legal advice as an independent attorney, to people who suffered arbitrary detentions and human rights violations by the Cuban Regime. She also wrote articles and reports exposing the systematic violations of the right to due process in Cuba.
As a consequence, she emigrated to the United States in December 2014. Attorney Flores is bilingual (English and Spanish). She joined the Law Offices of Manuel Solis, as a legal assistant in 2015 and grew her passion into Immigration Law. In 2018, she was admitted to the University of Miami School of Law. During her legal studies, she was twice awarded by the Cuban American Bar Association. In December, 2020 she earned her Juris Doctor Degree and the LL.M. in International Law. As a member of the State Bar of Florida, she is licensed to practice law in Florida and Federal Law practice areas in any state of the United States.
Yaremis Flores is the first one in her family to emigrate to the United States and earn two law degrees in different jurisdictions. As an immigrant, she has the empathy to understand the challenges her clients are going through and takes each case as her own. She practices at the Houston office and represents clients facing removal proceedings in court.
