The lawyer Evaldo C. Nido Nylund was born and raised in the small town of Guayama, Puerto Rico. He was an outstanding athlete in both basketball and volleyball, representing his country in national youth programs.
He graduated in 2003 from the Faculty of Law of the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, where he was class president in 2002 and treasurer of the Student Council in 2003. He worked as Secretary of Student Law for the Chief Magistrate Judge at the District Court in Puerto Rich.
After graduating from law school, he went to study his LL.M. (Master of Law) at the University of Heidelberg in Germany, and at the Institute of International Studies of the University of Santiago de Chile, where he graduated with a GPA equivalent to 3.7 in International Law, Commerce, Investments and Arbitration in 2005.
He has extensive experience in international law, advising governments and private organizations on different aspects of international law, commerce, investments and arbitration, as well as project financing initiatives, complex contracts and insurance. He is licensed to practice law in Puerto Rico and currently works in the deportation department, which focuses on the defense of deportation and advising clients on immigration matters.
